Cuando Susana Romero decide llevar adelante una obra importante, lo logra. Así, sus peces y su Kuruzú Yeguá —Cruz Adornada —, ritual del misticismo popular del Paraguay y del norte del litoral argentino.
Sabemos que ya hace un tiempo que esta argentina, que adoptó la tierra paraguaya durante bastantes años, viene realizando una importante investigación que capta la cosmovisión de esa maravillosa región, que cautiva a quienes la han pisado.
En acrílico sobre tela, como en "El árbol de la vida", Susana Romero nos muestra figuras humanas y de peces en un fondo azul que bien podría ser acuático. En el Curuzú Yeguá, desde la oscuridad basal una suerte himno se eleva a regiones anaranjadas hacia las que confluyen las figuras humanas para disolverse en el plano superior. También "El rescate" alterna oscuros con anaranjados en el centro hacia donde convergen humanos, peces y algún jinete.
Todo está bañado por la fuerza poética de esta creadora que ha sabido explorar y develar los más íntimos secretos de esa mágica región.
Susana Romero, que figura en importantes museos, tanto de Paraguay como de la Argentina, cumplió además una destacada tarea docente cuando asumió la dirección del taller de Artes Visuales del Museo Paraguayo de Arte Contemporáneo.
Quienes conozcan a Susana Romero podrán apreciar la autenticidad de sus pinturas, que emana de la autenticidad de su persona, un espíritu insobornable puesto al servicio de los altos reclamos de la creación artística.

When Susana Romero decides to carry out an important work of art, she accomplishes it. As are, her fish and her Kuruzú Yeguá – adorned cross-, ritual of the popular mysticism of Paraguay and the northern argentine coast.
We know that for some time now this argentine, who adopted the paraguayan land for quite some years, has been producing important research which captures the view of the universe which that marvelous region holds, that captivates anyone who has stepped foot in it. 
In acrylic on canvas, such as in  “El árbol de la vida” (The tree of life), Susana Romero shows us human figures and fish on a blue backdrop which could easily be aquatic. In the Kuruzú Yeguá, from the underlying darkness a sort of hymn rises to orange tinted regions towards which the human figures converge to dissolve in the superior area. Also “El Rescate” (The rescue) alternates darkness with orange tints in the center towards where humans, fish and some rider converge.  
Everything is bathed by the poetic force of this creator who has known to explore and reveal the most intimate secrets of that magical region. Susana Romero, who is featured in important museums, of both Paraguay and Argentina, has also fulfilled an outstanding teaching job when she took on the direction of the Paraguayan Museum of Contemporary Art’s visual arts workshop. 
Those who know Susana Romero will appreciate the authenticity of her paintings, which emanate from the authenticity of her being, an incorruptible spirit put to the service of the highest claims of artistic creation.
